Sorry I did not post this prior to the event, but I had last minute information on it. This was a display event put on by the Lyon's Air Museum at John Wayne Airport in Orange County and they did not advertise it either except for on their website.
Originally military vehicles were only invited and that was enlarged to include reenactors. I contacted them and got conflicting information but as usual it was close and I can adapt my display to almost any space so I thought it would be a good opportunity and as it turned out it was!
Crowds were extremely light and few showed up but this turned out to be a good thing for us. Our display was manned by myself, Chad and a new recruit, Danny and next to us was a display and our member dressed as Japanese Navy, Atsumi Akamine. He is always a crowd pleaser.
In the course of the day we had no less than FIVE prospective member sign ups and one even paid his CHG dues on the spot. Better yet, he brings a blank adapted BAR along with him. Fills a badly felt gap since I had to sell ours last year.
The event was from 10-2pm. It was attended by 2nd Armored, the LHA and our local Orange County Military vehicle collectors club members. Overall despite the light turn out it was highly sucessful for our unit. The museum even fed us lunch.
