TEXARKANA, Ark. – Arkansas authorities say World War II artifacts have been stolen from the estate of a veteran who was a member of the company that inspired the "Band of Brothers" book and miniseries.
The Texarkana Gazette reports that the items were stolen from the estate of Bull Randleman, who served in the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division.
Randleman died in 2003 and artifacts from his war days were passed on to his son, Eric Randleman. The sheriff's office says that Eric Randleman died in January 2011 and that his home was ransacked later in the year.
Detective Stephen Ware says the missing items include Bull Randleman's World War II uniforms with ribbons, patches and insignias, along with dog tags and a scrapbook.
