Because of problems getting Lost Valley and the Big Bear sites this time the Ost Front battle is now planned for the new battle site at Reyes Creek where the January Battle of the Bulge was held.
The Entry is at the location of the old adobe buildings and POV parking is just beyond that where the old equipment crane is located.
Line up is at 9am Saturday.

I am currently 50-50 on going to this battle. I believe I have one person who wants to go. Please contact me if you want to go and I will make plans. At this time I only plan on going one day and should have plenty of room for people in my van. Will plan on taking my jeep as well but no .50 cal this time, only for transport of equipment and water.
With the work that was done at Reyes Creek last weekend the area is now wide open for large reenactments. New roads, campsites, fighting areas and a forested area. Its looking to be a very good battle this time.
I've heard the Germans are bringing at least one of their half tracks. The Russians are bringing at least one of their Armored cars. Should be interesting.

Our new Reyes Creek location is wide open now and the battle was held in the best part of the property, the lower end of Snail Valley. There are now lots of fighting positions, berms, camping areas and plenty of POV parking.
With the new roads there were plenty of places for my jeep to manuever around as well although for the Russian Front it is mearly for transport and equipment, not tactical use. I can see an ETO there will be quite interesting.
The German camp was located at the end of what has been referred to as 'Main Valley'. The roads again were opened up and now cross the ravine in that valley. There is excellent cover for battles and lot of room to manuever. The Russian camp was located up Snail Valley and was at the location where the irrigation pipe crossed the road. I arrived just at line up time.
The Russians started off advancing toward the German camp and almost made it all the way there before coming in contact with the Germans. There was a pitched battle back and forth with the Russians gradually falling back that lasted all day until about 1:30pm and ending at the Russian camp. After a break for lunch there as another battle that lasted till 4:30pm in the large meadow at the crossroads. This area alone is a great area for small unit actions.
The weather was great. The soil was damp but plenty dry enough, not hard packed. This property has a huge potential and everyone had a great time.
