Anybody want to do a movie?

I get these offers every now and then. I have two right now but most of the time I pass as they are usually looking for guys to work for nothing or maybe a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch (I kid you not).

I have a couple now, one I'm lukewarm on because its probably in Northern California the other sounds like it might have some kind of promise but I haven't responded to them yet. They want Asians but some of our 34th ID members might have a spot as well. I need to speak to them and see what they want but before I do I need to know if anybody is interested or it won't be worth my time.

I spoke to my contact yesterday. They are giving me the usual speel and are only making a trailer at this time. Typical. The way movies are made today is a producer will make a trailer and put it on YouTube and if there is enough of a public following Hollywood will pick it up.

They didn't tell me this but I know from experience that this is where they are at. No budget yet, this could take awhile before I can get concrete answers. They claim they will pay but how much and what still needs to be negotiated. So they did tell me they are only doing a trailer.

They claim they have guys who have committed to bring their vehicles for free, tanks, halftracks and plenty of jeeps, and there are lots of guys who will work just to get on screen.

My answer to that is good luck to you. I will tell you what I have and continue to speak to you but if we don't get paid we don't play. I am more than willing to bet, no... I can guarantee they have nothing right now and are trying to cut corners on a limited budget with us being at the short end.

But if it should happen they are telling me the truth and they are willing to pay us, I will continue to work with them. I will update as it goes along but expect this to take awhile to play out.
