This came across my morning emails today. Its free and considering the continuing degredation of this beautiful state by our shortsighted politicians this really needs our help.
Hi Everyone-
My name is Sara Fuess, I am a new member to this group and just wanted to introduce myself. I am John Fuess's daughter and recently found out about the closure of Fort Tejon. Though I do not volunteer regularly, I was appalled at the thought of not having the fort around. Very few parks offer the living history progams at the caliber Fort Tejon does. I am also livid about the closing of 25 % of our beautiful state parks. It's so horrible to see so many of our natural and historical treasures shut down (and eventually ruined). I am very motivated to do all that I can to keep this amazing historical park open for years to come. My father and I organized the letter signing on the 4th of July Celebration, and with help from other friends and volunteers, we have close to 400 letters to submit to our legislators. There was a wonderful volunteer and visitor turn out also. Thank YOU! Great day for the Fort. People love this place and don't want to see it lost, but it will take a lot of hard work to get it out of the red. Please help me by taking a little time to read and comment on the following links.
Coca Cola is offering 3 large grants to the most "popular" American park. Fans vote and send photos or videos to accumulate points. The park with the most points
can win $100,000 , second prize is $50,000 and 3rd is $25, 000. I have the link directly to the website:

This is the Facebook link on the FTSHP page

Basically, a vote is one point. Each person can vote up to 20 times a day. Photos and videos are worth more points. Karina and I have been on it for half an hour and
went from being ranked #482 up to #99 with just 60 votes. I think this has not hit the masses yet and could be a great way to raise $ for our effort.
Many thanks,
Saralee
