Excerpt from the Last CHG meeting notes:
Because November battles have a higher rate of us getting bumped from the Barracks, and the influx of National Guard activities, it was decided to push the even forward two weeks ,placing it in October. 2d Armored will host the battle.

We have set up a non-profit PP account for CHG. Our first action is to set up for payment of dues. The button is found on the Headquarters page and will be activated shortly by the Webmaster. We can, through the use of PayPal, allow members who prefer to pay by credit card the ability to pay dues and battle fees. As time progresses, buttons will be added for specific battles and the Christmas party. We're still working the details but from my perspective, the use of PayPal will cut down on the amount of cash I have to handle and streamline the collection of battle fees at line-up. If you don't know, the Bank charges us for handling excess cash. Here is an example: I wrote five checks to various unit leaders rebating the fee overage paid at the April Desert Battle. Through PayPal, I could have done this in minutes and be assured that the funds were received. I realize that there is a charge associated with the use of PP, but I think the labor saved and ease of use of PP is worth it. Besides, we can afford it and anything the Club can do to make the Treasurer's job easier is highly worthwhile.
Let your members know about this service. We are considering using advance payment through PP for the October battle for purposes of locking in a bunk in the barracks. The possibilites and ramifications of PayPal will be discussed at the next Board meeting. -- Ron R. Glaeseman CHG Treasurer

I should be able to go. I will probably have to drive solo because I get off work at 7am.

It was looking pretty bad for me to make this battle, but now there is a chance I can do it. At the last battle Taisho and I were going in my van and just a mile away I hit a rock in the road. It tore out my undercarriage and punched a hole in my oil pan the size of a basketball. Needless to say that's as far as I got. I had to get towed back home and the van is still in the shop getting repaired. I should get it back just before the battle.
The real problem is I lost both my dog sitters. For those that may not know, our own Jeff Finney is in the hospital. I took him in for a check up a couple months ago and they checked him in the hospital on the spot and within a few days he had open heart surgery. He is in rehab right now. This was a big blow as he was a huge supporter of our unit and was helping us on many different levels besides being my friend.
So now I'm looking for another sitter and I have a couple prospects. Should this all work out I will be at the battle.
