Once a week I drive north to meet one of my clients and I pick up a fresh batch of eBay material to make a living from. This week he gave me a gift and tonight instead of my usual eBay grind from morning until night I'm taking off for the rest of the night to share this with you. These are battlefield pick ups from Omaha beach. My client has traveled the world for over 30 years collecting militaria and haunting shows. If you do any amount of shows you have probably seen him, if you have been around you know of him. He was at Omaha beach with a friend of his ten years ago and they came across a construction site. There was some digging going on they were unearthing relics of the invasion. Here is a US canteen, dated 1943 made by Vollrath. Attachments:

That's pretty cool. It's intriguing to find stuff from 65 years after the war at battlesites and then try to imagine what its "life" was during and after the war....
