The Christmas Party event held at the Chino Planes of Fame museum for the California Historical Group was once again a great success and no rain in site. About 80 people participated for the evening dinner complete with all the trimmings for an evening to celebrate. Tables were nicely set with cloth and lovely Holiday gift-box decorations and the room was decorated to foster the Christmas cheers.
The bar opened at 6 pm for the happy hour sponsored by the AVG group. Dinner was served around 7 pm with tossed salads with bread & butter. For main entree a mixed vegetables medley, with choices of rigatoni, veal Parmesan, beef & noodles. The desert consisted of chocolate cake topped with white icing plus a mini-size cheesecake variety express.
The place was filled with people from members of the CHG and their guests. Mostly family and friends some new, some returnees from the previews years. Most members wore the traditional military style attire from their respected units as the guests were just as lovely & adorable in their evening gowns and 40's dresses. A 40's type of music DJ was there to complete the evening with dances.
It was a fun filled night to enjoy as any similar traditional military Christmas dinner would have been. It's main function was generally to introduce and know the members of the organization to family and friends reinforcing support, camaraderie and esprit de corps.
Lastly it exhibits the members strength and unity by the attendance they showed in such an event. As any military dinner, preparation prior to the event is just as important part of military customs to enhance and hone the skill of discipline, good morale character and excellent social skills.
