Hawaiian dollars were only used in Hawaii. When the 442nd recruits left Hawaii they had to turn in their Hawaiian dollars for currency used on the mainland.
Likewise, reproduce occupation money but be careful doing anything that looks like current US currency like those Hawaiian dollars. Many of these could still be legal tender and reproducing them might be neat but you are violating several federal forgery laws and could set yourself up and others for a long paid vacation at the taxpayers expense with a lot of time on your hands with a boyfriend named Rex. The government takes a dim view of this and especially doing it on computer as they are willing to prosecute even small things to make an example.

Also to add to what Tim said, these US Dollars were marked in this fashion for a reason. In the case of the Hawaii stamp, it was so that if the Japanese attacked and took over the islands, and got their hands on huge sums of US Dollars, the US Government could void these specially marked Dollars.
The same with the North African Dollars. Here it was if the German, were to capture the US troops and positions in large numbers, and also were able to get their hands on huge sums of Dollars. The same would have occurred, the US Government would void the specially marked Dollars.
