The Sendai had our first planning meeting for the upcoming PTO event. We are expecting another great senario, but we need volunteers to help work on the planning for the event. We also need people or allied units who will help with some of the planning and construction of simple elements for the Allied side. Please PM me here or contact me at kanowarrior@yahoo.com. If need be I can set up a meeting place at a local restaurant to discuss the planning. Need some people to volunteer to build landing craft ramps. These will extremely simple affairs, not an entire landing craft. Just a simple framework roughly the size of a ramp or the width of a LCVP. This can be covered with paper or canvas or whatever material. I saw a huge roll of very thick brown landscaping paper at Home Depot for about 8 bucks that would fit the bill perfectly and probably be enough to cover several ramps. Also any ideas would be welcome. Would like to work on doing a very simple airfield, just a small building like have set up many times for Japanese encampment displays. It could be also covered with the same paper and maybe a windsock and or flag pole. The AVG has volunteered to work on an airfield but I need some firm commitments as well. No comment on what the Japanese will be doing... ;D

The PTO battle is coming up fast. I will be going out to the site this weekend to work on prep for the battle. I have two things to bring up now. First & most importantly EVERYONE MUST WEAR HELMETS for the first senario. We will be simulating a beach landing and there will be incoming on massed groups. NO EXCUSES. After the first senario people can use soft caps. If someone doesn't have a helmet they will have to sit out the first senario. Secondly, we need the allied units to step up & work on their landing craft. One of the Marine units is building two but it would help if each unit would do so. Attached is a message from that unit and what they are doing. I'm not talking about building an entire boat. This can just be a curtain to drop to simulate a ramp or some kind of ramp. The rest of the boat will be marked with yellow tape which I have a supply of. Contact Josh after reading the attached email to help. These boats were designed to officially hold about 24 men or a jeep and crew. Please have enough time to set up prior to the start of the battle. There will be a naval commander in charge of the assault force and the Australians have volunteered to act as landing craft drivers. There will be an allied aid station behind the lines and if a craft gets hit before landing all inside will have to go back to the aid station for a kill time then report back to their landing craft to try again. Tim, We have finished the specs and diagrams and supply lists for the boats. Can you either forward them on to whatever allied unit commanders are planning on going or put me in touch with them? I'd really appreciate it.
Here are the supplies needed for one complete boat and the pics (2) are attached to this email.
Full length 2x4s 15 feet long x4 2x4s 10 feet 10 inches long x2 2x4s 7 feet long x2 2x4s 5 feet long x6 2 sheets of plywood 7x 5.5 3 strips of plywood 5x3 3 packages of canvas drop cloths 8x11 2 Boxes of screws 4 inch and two inch Heavy duty Staple gun with staples Power drills.
You may want to substitute eye bolts for screws on the front beams where the ropes run through for the ramp for convenience.
Our unit will be fabricating 2 craft as each will easily fit 20 men. I recommend the other units collaborate if they have less than 15 men showing up.
Thanks Tim!
