If you have found this forum - Welcome !
This forum is a companion to our website www.442ndRCT.com and is open to anyone to read the threads and comments.
The forum is only open for "posting" to members, recruits, registered guests
Members - Those people who are current with the CHG and a member of the 442ndRCT unit of the California Historical Group.
Recruits - Those people who are interested in discussing and participating in the topics on the board, and are "in-process", of putting together their impression. We realize it takes time, many months in some cases for new people to collect all their gear, and also work on getting a rifle in most cases. But we welcome recruits, and understand you may not become an official member for a while.
So become active and don't let the wait, be a reason not to post. 8)
Other Units- Those people from other units in the CHG or elsewhere, who have registered themselves on this forum. Some are from the Axis side, some are Allied. And who are in good standing and contribute. Guests who haven't posted in six months are automatically deleted
Forum Rules and Guidelines
Overriding Purpose of the Forum
The primary purpose of this forum, is to establish a base of operation with which to communicate with each other. It is not a place to preach to one another. Also keep in mind many members do not frequent the forum, and can only be contacted by e-mail, regular mail, or phone calls.
The Background of the Guys here
Those who part take in WWII Reenacting, come from several angles and backgrounds:
Where do we come from?
1. 48% come from a intense interest in WWII History & Weapons
2. 28% come from a background in Civil War Reenacting
3. 15% come from a friend talking them into coming out
4. 7% come from watching WWII movies and/or video games
5. 2% come from a interest in collecting WWII artifacts
The Point: No one will share the exact same interest in WWII reenacting as you. So keep that in mind when you post, but more importantly when you reply to some comment another member made and posted that pissed you off or frustrated you.
Reenactor First or Second?
Not all members start out as reenactors. Becoming a reenactor doesn't happen overnight, it comes over time, "It a Process".
- 51% of the people are WWII buffs who come to reenacting events
- 49% of the people are reenactors who come to reenact WWII
The Point: Each person approaches WWII from a different entry point. They may not be as experienced as you, and are learning. Give them a chance to enjoy the process of learning, just as you did.
