Forum Rules and Guidlines
Overriding Purpose of the Forum
The primary purpose of this forum, is to establish a base of operation with which to communicate with each other. It is not a place to preach to one another. Also keep in mind many members do not frequent the forum, and can only be contacted by e-mail, regular mail, or phone calls.
The Background of the Guys here
Those who part take in WWII Reenacting, come from several angles and backgrounds:
Where do we come from?
1. 48% come from a intense interest in WWII History & Weapons
2. 28% come from a background in Civil War Reenacting
3. 15% come from a friend talking them into coming out
4. 7% come from watching WWII movies and/or video games
5. 2% come from a interest in collecting WWII artifacts
The Point: No one will share the exact same interest in WWII reenacting as you. So keep that in mind when you post, but more importantly when you reply to some comment another member made and posted that pissed you off or frustrated you.
Reenactor First or Second?
Not all members start out as reenactors. Becoming a reenactor doesn't happen overnight, it comes over time, "It a Process".
- 51% of the people are WWII buffs who come to reenacting events
- 49% of the people are reenactors who come to reenact WWII
The Point: Each person approaches WWII from a different entry point. They may not be as experienced as you, and are learning. Give them a chance to enjoy the process of learning, just as you did.
Rules of the Fourm
1. Be yourself - Act in the forum the same way, you would in person. Don't act bigger than you are.
2. Communicate - Expressing your thoughts, by the use of text. This means NO cartoons, graphics or and other Non-WWII graphic will be allowed. This forum is not a place to have "jpeg-Battles", or any other internet, forum, or blog practices.
3. Use PM's (Personal Message) - If you are frustrated with someone's post, or are personally upset or offended, WRITE THEM A PM. The open forum is not a place to have personal debates between two individuals. Use PM's to converse, DO NOT use PM's to harass someone.
4. Guests are here - Keep in mind, potential new members use and read the forum, as a basis for their decision to join one or another. Accordingly dialog which belongs in PM's, but shows up in the "open forum" will be deleted.
5. Busting Balls - This is something which works better face to face. It doesn't work on the internet or this forum. First off, you don't know the relationships two or more guys may have with each other. Accordingly if you want to bust some balls, it's probably better to do that at an event or PM.
6. Deleted Posts - from time to time, dead posts, one word or two word post, and chatter, maybe deleted. Old posts which no longer serve a purpose or relate to something current may be deleted to reduce clutter. Duplicate posts may be deleted or merge.
7. Use Search - We know your excited and you want to start a new thread, but check to see if one all ready exist and add to it.
