Here are two videos done by another 442ndRCT reenactor group located in Japan. The second one has them singing a 442nd song.
This is our historical reenactment of the Japanese American "Nisei" Unit at the Italian Front in the spring of 1944. The filming was done on May 4th and 5th 2007, at the Military Vehicle Meeting at the Yogo skiing ground in Shiga prefecture.
We see the "reenactment" as an opportunity to take part in an outdoor theatrical event, without script, so each of us will improvise our roles, coming up with our own lines, and actions .This time, we set the "re‐creation of the daily lives of the Nisei soldiers" as the main theme. We attempted to experience what those Japanese American soldiers went through and felt. At the same time we were keen to feel the "spirit of the period", so tried our best to recreate an authentic atmosphere. Fortunately we had access to various American military vehicles that gathered at the Military Vehicle Meeting. We used some of them as the props. These vehicles added significant value to our film.

442nd is HUGE in Japan. Always has been. Notice you never saw any muzzle flashes in any of those videos? Airsoft. Real weapons are against the law in Japan. This what our battle will probably be like in a 10 years from now at the rate our laws are going. And then the Airsoft weapons might be facing the same regulations as real firearms in this state.
I can only dream of seeing that many Asians out in the field doing 442nd. Maybe someday.

Even for airsoft, those 442nd guys are squared away. Some here may get heart attacks over their events as not being CHG standards for accuracy but at least they're having fun there.

From what I've seen they are more about "living the life" and the first person aspect of reenacting. I think thats cool and we've done plenty. Tried to get a small baseball team together among other things. Its kinda cool I was out at a nearby mall and was poking through the magazines/books/manga section and they had around 6-7 magazines dedicated to militaria and military history. Heck one magazine I saw was dedicated to 1950's Americana.

While drunk out of my mind at a militaria event here in Tokyo, I met a member of the 442nd airsoft unit.
