Footlockers

Anyone have a 'crate' style footlocker in this unit? The ones with the bracing on the sides and top, I think Bob has Andy Spikowski's old one, and I think it was the style I'm looking for. I'm looking to build one up from scratch, and I need a few measurements so I can get to work on it. Hardscrabblefarm.com has a decent construction drawing for this style of footlocker, but they don't show the dimensions for the inside tray, or whether it was a split tray or one piece.

If anyone has any info that would be helpful!

Not sure if your still looking to build an inside tray for your footlocker but here it is. If not it will be a good source of info for anyone else in the future.

I measured the one I have, and mine are 29 in x 14 3/4 in x 3 H. This site actually sells them and for the price, probably better off buying from them.

Alot of us have them. Some of us might be interested in doing a proper display.

I must admit I myself am not that detail oriented. I have a footlocker, and to me it's just a box and I stuff it with stuff. But I also do appreciate it when I see someone go to the trouble to put together a nice display and it's tempting.

where do you guys find all your nifty little nicknacks to stuff in your footlocker, I've seen some pretty impressive ones at roberts events, and now that I have one id like to start filling it.

I've found some pretty cool stuff at antique shops, but its often really expensive...

Need a footlocker?

I see a ton of these sometimes, usually in the $40 to $60 price range, sometimes with trays sometimes without but usually won't get them unless they fall below that range. I just got one yesterday for less than $40 that was dated 1952 and really nice and solid but missing a tray.
