I love this movie, and who the use of cinematography, the angles, the wide lenses, my only question is were the tanks used Sherman or something else cause they don't look like Shermans.

Most motion pictures the have tanks in them, whether they protray an American or German tanks, used American made M41 Walker Bulldog tanks or M47 or M48 Patton tanks. It's only when they want to spotlight one or two tanks, do you see a Sherman or a Tiger. The thing that I always thought was lame was in the movie the Big Red One, was the use of Sherman tanks o protray German Panzer III, which was confusing to say the least. Here is a scene from Patton, they used the same tanks for both American and German tank scenes The two on the left are M48 Pattons and the one on the right is a M41 Walker BulldogThis one is M48 PattonHere is an example from the TV Show Combat!

Well the reason for those tanks is that the extras in Patton are from the Spanish Army... and so are the vehicles...

Well, we can all assume that every sherman the US really had were either melted down to rebuild the axis countries or given away to foreign allies such as Israel, which needed every tank in its disposal to defend themselves...I could be wrong. Someone correct me please...
