Band Of Brothers author accused of fabrication for Eisenhower biographyUS academic world shocked as respected historian is said to have 'made up' meetings with 34th US president While many have heard about issue about plagiarism with Steven Ambrose and his writings. This article goes deeper www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/apr/25/stephen-ambrose-eisenhower-biography-scandalen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_AmbroseThe Eisenhower ControversyTwo of Ambrose's repeated statements about his interaction with President Eisenhower have since been called into question:
President Eisenhower called him in 1964 to request that Ambrose write Ike's biography Ambrose spent "hundreds of hours" interviewing Eisenhower. Newly-found evidence has since contradicted these statements.
Evidence reported in the April 26, 2010 [6] issue of The New Yorker shows that it was Ambrose, not Eisenhower, who initiated the contact. This was shown in a letter dated September 10, 1964 found in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum, in Abilene, Kansas. As for the hours spent with Eisenhower, only five hours can be found where Ambrose met with Eisenhower, and those were with other people on three separate occasions.
