The event dates are March 4 -6 Cost is $40.00 CHG dues are $30.00 but these are NOT due until your SECOND event. Camp Roberts is a five hour drive north. So you want 1. Money for Gas 2. Money to cover Lunch up Friday and Lunch back Sunday 3. You need to bring a period correct meal for the Saturday Battle 4. Friday and Saturday Night money for Dinner. If you have a rifle you will need to buy blanks sooner and NOT later. Blanks cost $55 per 100 rounds, and you should buy 300 to 400 rounds each time you purchase them. www.joeswansonsmotionpictureblanks.com/If you are looking to borrow a rifle you need to make arrangements (ask, speak up) sooner and NOT later. You should also read the Basic Gear Thread, and post up what gear you have and what gear you don't have.

Information about the registration and barracks from Anthony
Just a reminder to tell your members to notify me via e-mail (not the RSVP system as it will shut down) when they need to drop out from the registry. Keeping accurate numbers will help me figure out where units will need to fit in. DO NOT SWAP SPOTS WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS NOT REGISTERED. That is not fair to the members who actually took the time and effort (which were both minimal) to sign up on the system. I will do my best to accommodate units and put them in buildings with like impressions (and like minds). So far, with 8 buildings, it seems to work out okay, so long as people pull together, be fair and follow the rules. Some of you have offered to step up and volunteer to camp as a unit in the field. I commend you for doing that! However, I am continuing to speak with the base about the situation and they are aware of our numbers and needs and are seeing what they can do on their end. I will keep everyone posted if there are any changes. AS IT STANDS NOW, WE ARE LOCKED IN FOR THE 8 BARRACKS.

More information from Anthony:
Several of you have asked about how the authenticity inspection is going to go down at Camp Roberts. Here is how I plan to handle it: At line up, I will post 4 to 6 CHG members (maybe more) to walk the ranks as Authenticity Officers (AOs) looking for major authenticity violations. As they walk a unit, the unit leader will follow along so that he or she is there in case anything needs to be addressed. These AOs will take notes and will jot down issues and concerns, but will not have the authority to boot somebody from the event. They are also not there to embarrass or make public display of someone. It will be as discreet as possible, however major violations will have to be rectified before they will be allowed to take to the field. Major Violations are: 1.Unacceptable Haircuts 2.Unacceptable Facial Hair 3.Non-period Eyeglasses or Sun Glasses (within reason) 4.Obvious Modern Equipment, Clothing, Shoes, Gear After line-up, I will call over unit leaders who have members with major violations and take a look at the member and hear both sides out. If a person cannot or will not correct a major violation, the unit will be cited an infraction. Infractions will be carried out per the most current bylaws section governing Authenticity Violations at the time of the event. I will weigh out everything and hear out both sides of the story. Do not argue with the AOs. Major Violations will have to be corrected before going in to the field or the unit will be cited. They have to be really major and obvious. Some impressions allow facial hair, such as beards. The AOs will not be masters of every impression, but will be veteran reenactors I feel that have a good knowledge base of the Armies they will be looking at. If you or a member are planning to have something that is unique to your unit and is not common knowledge (like a fu-manchu mustache), best bring documentation to support it. In regards to items 3 and 4, these have to be really obvious. I'm talking Ray Ban sunglasses for line troops or Oakleys on Czech Partisans. I know some folks have no other eyeglasses to wear. If an AO questions it, explain the situation politely. It will be noted anyways (all notes will go in to my AAR), but won't bar the person from attending the battle. The same goes for new members still trying to work on their kits. It is my hope that you unit leaders will give nothing for my AOs to do or point out. Enforce authenticity on your own! Our event is getting bigger and more eyes are upon it than ever before. Our photos are all over various online forums and the internet. Do not let one of your members be in the farb spotlight! I will be passing this information on to the guest units, as well.

Is anyone coming through the Ventura area have any extra carpool room? My car broke down last week, worst case scenario I'll grab a rental car and would be able to carry 1-2 if anyone else in the Ventura area needs a ride. Other than that count me in fellas can't wait to see you all.

Here is the plan so far. 5am Friday we will be meeting in Artesia and carpooling up from there. Joe Muffly will be riding with Sergio who will be towing the second jeep.
Andy will meet up with us there in Artesia. We should hopefully be rolling out of there by 5:30-6am.
Roughly sometime around 7-8am we should be rolling thru Ventura and picking up Spencer.
Anyone else want to carpool with us be sure to contact me or Brett Hodgeson.
Taisho and Travis should be hitting the road Friday afternoon, there is still a chance to carpool up with them.
Russ Rice and Opie will be carpooling out from Arizona, Russ might bring his Command Car.
Randy should be driving up by himself and Tom Jones is current in Kuwait and will not be attending.

Current status of things.
442nd has 16 registered to go, and 2 alternates or 18 people. The 101st has 32 people and not sure of alternates, but I'm guessing three. Accordingly that is 53 people, or a least 8 cots needed. This will drop to 5 cots needed if in fact Rice, Jones, and Burgess are dropping out.
From the roster, it shows Russael Rice and Tom Jones out, yet no posting to confirm. But since Mayo made the post it is probably confirmed.
The other person is John Burgess which is confirmed missing on the roster, and in the forums.
Next, Spence, remember you will need to pay your 2011 CHG dues + Battle fees to attend this event. John Burgess needs to pay 2010 and 2011.

Dave, they were able to get two more barracks due to the Army not needing them. Tim found this out yesterday at the CHG meeting.

Mike, Anthony is pretty sure on the 10 barracks, and will know for sure today.
But people need to consider this. 10 barracks means, 9 men's barracks and now 1 barracks for the women that they don't have to share with the men. 9 barracks equals 405 beds. And while their have been some cancellations, their is a lot of people on "standby".
The 9 barracks means that all those who registered will have "access" to a bed. But that being said, if the 442nd and 101st are grouped into one barracks, you have 12 Registered and 2 standbys. The 101st has 32 Registered and I'm, guessing 3 standbys. This is 49 guys. So we will need (4) Beds and/or Cots.
Other units will be doing the same thing, i.e. cannibalizing beds, probably from the the Women's Barracks, as very few of the units will fit perfectly like a glove into each barracks building and each floor. And just as the 442nd and 101st have unregistered guys, the other unit also have them as well.

Spencer, Taisho and I will be leaving some time after noon on Friday. We should have room for you depending on how much gear you plan to bring. I don't know exactly when we are leaving however. I think Taisho has class until 12:00, and it will probably take him an hour to an hour and a half to get to my place, plus however long it will take for us to get his stuff packed into my car. I am also an hour or so from Ventura.

Negative Andy, we won't have you drive alone. If you want to wait, you can carpool with Spence, Taisho and Brehm if you'd like. Or you could meet up with us at Jeff Finney's place at 5am Friday and we will get loaded up and put passengers in cars there. But we wouldn't let you ride alone, buddy. However, if you would like to carpool with Spence, Taisho and Brehm to save on gas, it's up to you. Or if you want to leave with the group leaving at 5am from Artesia (Jeff's place) then let the LT know. We can have a guy or two ride with you.

Spencer is suppose to riding up with us. Since he didn't register it's best if he gets there early instead of at night when you guys get there.

Ok, so Spencer is going with you then? My car can take 4 people, and I will be heading through the Ventura area, and can pick anybody up as long as they don't mind getting a late start. We should be good on cargo space unless everybody brings footlockers and a ton of extra gear.

LISTEN UP!!
Everyone needs to remember these things as this is a Camp Roberts Battle!!
You MUST bring a photo ID with you and drivers MUST have their driver's licenses to show at the main gate to get in as well as at the Provost Marshall's office. Drivers also MUST have proof of insurance cover with a proper affective date.
Also, once you have been let inside, ALL WEAPONS MUST BE CHECKED IN!! If this is your first time bringing a weapon to Camp Roberts, you will have to fill something out in order to register your weapon with them. After you register your weapon the first time, every time you come back, all you have to do is match up the serial number with the weapon and you're good to go.
After checking in our weapons, we then will head over to our barracks and get our assignment.
Once we get our assigned barracks, we will unload the cars, calim beds and get settled in. We all need to unhook the Jeeps and prep them for the next day's battle at this time as well.
Something to remember when we are at the barracks, don't go off exploring or visiting other barracks until you check in with the Duty NCO (which will most likely be myself) and let the Duty NCO know where you are going. We just need to make sure we know where everyone is in case they are needed for some reason.
This is going to be one heck of a battle!! I am very excited for it, and I know everyone else probably is too!! Let's have a fun (and safe) time out there!!

Fellas - I am in the midst of battling a raging flu virus...trying to buck up and make it this weekend, but not sure will be able. Would've posted a day or so ago, but was hoping I would feel better, but not to be. I had registered and therefore occupy a bunk space in the barracks. Would be a shame to not allow someone else my spot.

I'm sorry to hear that Randy. It will be a bummer but your health is far more important. There will always be another Roberts.
And besides if you die I will kill you. Or I'll dig you up and kill you again. ;D
Travis, as far as Spencer goes, he made arrangements to ride with us. If he changes that he needs to let me know so we don't stop over there. I sent him a message as soon as I saw your post but he hasn't responded so at this time I am expecting to pick him up. As I said, since he didn't register, its best if he goes as early as possible to secure a place to sleep or he could be bounced.
